UK Government Introduces New Categories for Immigration

The UK Border Agency introduced two Tiers namely Tier 2 and Tier 5 on 27 November 2008 under the Points Based System. These two Tiers are incorporate in the currently running Tier 1 which includes General Migrants formerly known as Highly Skilled Migrant Program, Entrepreneurs and Innovators formerly known as businessmen and investor. However, rules regarding Tier 3 and Tier 4 will provide by the UKBA in 2009.

Government

Sponsored Skilled Worker category formerly called Work Permit Scheme comes under Tier 2 and the Youth Mobility Scheme is included in the Tier 5 by the UKBA. All the Tiers ranging from one to five is equally applicable by the UK Government and UK Government introduces all these categories so that people will able to make good careers. The UK Government introduces various new categories in their immigration department so that people will be able to get residency in UK and to provide efficient and effective immigration system to the people who are expecting to get permanent residency in the UK.

Now , the UK Government cancelled all the previous categories in which people applied to get some period to live in UK and the various categories which dismissed by the UK Government were Work Permit Scheme, Working Holidaymaker etc. The requirements for getting Tier 1 Entrepreneur visa has change slightly according to new immigration rules.
